Mother, They'll Find You

Fri Jul 10, 2009, 3:38 AM
It's just for a few days, so they can't find you. Please, mother...

Everyone knows I love Psycho. And if you don't, well I really like Psycho.
Probably my favourite movie EVORR. Beating Harry Potter (which, tbh, doesn't have much replay value for me) and even Michael Colins.
I KNOOW.
It's pretty darn epic.
It was also the first Hitchcock film I watched. Yeah, so that's one of the two I've watched. That's still twice as much Hitchcock as I had when I had only watched Psycho. SO THERE.

But I do fully think the classic movies appeal to me more. I don't know what it is, but modern movies just seem all too...well, modern. You can't escape from the reality.
The terrible, paining reality that is the modern era. And perhaps a bit of the post-modern era, which is coming, despite the seeming stupidity of a title. How can you be beyond modern? Well, some people reckon you can.
Good for them.

But well, now you ask, Madam - why on Earth did you bring up Psycho? We all know you cream yourself over it, so what then? - Well, good sirs, I'll tell you: I have also noticed a distinct lack of drawing on my part very recently. My reason for this is simply that my current art teacher makes me want to burn every living follicle of artisticness within me.
She really does. I don't know how, and I don't particularly want to confront it, for the obvious reason that I just don't want to.

But now I propose that I SHALL draw, and I SHALL enjoy it!
And to ensure this, I am now going to draw you pictures inspired by Psycho.
Which is really a very good movie; it's the movie that made Hitchcock the most amount of money, you know.

It's sequels are also entertaining. They are obviously nothing to the original, but quite entertaining. I mean that profoundly.
You should see the stuff that goes down. And they have so many references to the first one, in dialogue and camera cuts and such, that if you are anywhere near as admirant of Psycho as I am, however childishly, you will now and again give a short squeal of delight. I believe this is known as a 'squee'.
SQUEEEEEEE!!!
The last one is rather contempible; because of it's plot holes regarding the series and also it's authencity. But if you watch it when you're tired it's still fun times.
Styrrnine or whatever poisoning, which by the original Psycho happens, they obviously didn't bother looking into. Bates's mother does not do anything near the reaction she should have from the poisoning, which, though it is likely she will vomit as she does, does not include the spasms, the near touching of the head and feet because of the spinal malfunction it causes, and several other things.
But it's not that bad.

And so, I depart. Sort of shamefully. Because I rambled. A lot. And yeah.
Next time you see me, hopefully I'll have drawn a picture!
Until next time, fly my petals!
